VOLLIQ Privacy Policy

VOLLIQ is a volleyball practice coach for young athletes, made by Shake and Bake Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains in plain language what the app does with information. The short version: practice videos and body-movement data stay on your device. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
At a glance
- No account, sign-in, email or phone number is needed.
- Videos, video frames, photos taken from them and body-position (pose) data are analyzed and stored only on the device. They are never uploaded.
- To word coaching tips in a friendly way, the app may send short coaching text (no video, images, name or age) to our server.
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no location, no social features, and no selling of data.
Information stored only on your device
- Practice videos you record or pick from your photo library, plus frames and small photos made from them for rep reviews.
- Pose data: body-position points measured by an on-device model (Google MediaPipe Pose Landmarker, bundled inside the app).
- Results: rep counts, scores, tips and progress history.
- Athlete profile: a first name or nickname, an age range (9–10, 11–12, 13–14 or 15+), experience level, and an optional club or team name.
- Settings: theme, vibration on or off, and how long to keep videos.
This information is kept in the app's local storage on the device. We cannot see it, and there is no cloud backup from the app. Deleting the app deletes it.
Information sent to our server
After a practice, VOLLIQ can ask our server to reword its measured coaching tips so they feel personal. For this, the app sends only:
- The measured coaching text (for example, "bend your knees more before the set") and the number of valid reps.
- A random install code created on the device. It is not tied to a name, email or Apple ID and is used only to limit abuse of the coaching service.
It never sends the video, images, pose data, the athlete's name, age range or club. As with any internet request, our hosting provider receives the device's IP address. We use it briefly in server memory to rate-limit requests; we do not build profiles from it.
Our server runs on Lovable's hosting platform and passes the coaching text to an AI model provider (currently an OpenAI model accessed through Lovable's AI gateway) to reword it. We ask the provider not to store the request, and we do not use this text to train AI. The reworded tip is returned and saved only on the device. If the AI service is unavailable, the app shows the measured tips instead.
Camera and photo library
VOLLIQ asks for camera access to record practice and for photo library access only when you choose to analyze an existing video. You can change these in iOS Settings at any time.
Children's privacy
VOLLIQ is designed for young athletes, many under 13, and for the parents and coaches who help them. We built it so children's personal information does not leave the device:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or as defined by local law, such as COPPA in the U.S. and GDPR in the EU/UK).
- No accounts, chat, public profiles, leaderboards, ads or third-party tracking.
- The name, age range and videos stay on the device and are never sent to us.
- The only data sent off the device is the de-identified coaching text described above.
We recommend that a parent or guardian sets up the app with younger children. If you believe a child's personal information has reached us, email support@shakeandbakelabs.com and we will delete it.
Your choices and deletion
- Delete single videos or sessions, delete all videos while keeping results, or delete all data in Profile.
- Choose to keep videos for 7 days, 30 days or forever. Older videos are removed automatically.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Because we don't store your data on our servers, there is no account to delete. Requests about the coaching text can be sent to our support email.
Security and retention
Requests to our server use HTTPS. The server keeps rate-limit counters in memory only, and they reset regularly. Basic error logs on our hosting platform may briefly contain coaching text if a request fails; they never contain videos or names.
Changes
If we change how VOLLIQ handles data, we will update this page and the date above, and update the app before any new kind of data is collected.
